Senior Kayak - Sea Kayak Beginner Course - 3 days (IPP2)

Learn to row kayak over 3 dayson the IPP 2 beginner course together with other seniors in small teams with max. 6 participants per instructor.

**The course takes place in 3 consecutive weekdays from 10:00 to 16:00. **

The Senior Kayak course has been developed in collaboration with Eldresagen. Here they teach in small teams together with other seniors. It is a beginner course over 3 days, especially aimed at seniors.

There may be many different expectations for the course, for some would like to obtain the IPP 2 certificate, while others do not have an expectation of a certificate, but would just like to have an experience in kayaking. Common though is the desire to get out in the kayak!
By dividing the course up over 3 days, it is not as physically hard as our normal 2-day courses. On the other hand, we laugh a lot!

The advantage of taking the course over 3 days is that you get more time on the water, and the opportunity to distribute the rescue exercises so that you can better economize the forces. This is still the course we recommend if you as a senior want to get the most out of the IPP 2 course. But senior is a broad term, and the youngest “senior” student has been in their late 40s, while the oldest have been in their early 80s!

Understand the 3-layer principle and how to dress after relationship

First of all, we dress according to the 3-layer principle. Briefly described, the principle consists of one:

    • Inner layer (1st layer), which is a sweat-wicking layer, like wool or ski underwear.
    • Middle layer (2nd layer), which is an insulating layer in wool or fleece, in a thicker material (the cooler the air/water, the more you can fill up).
    • Outer layer (3rd layer), which is a shell layer that is water and windproof (anorak is used here, as well as wetsuit that both insulates and is waterproof).
    • In addition, one can keep the extremities warm (feet, hands and head) with wet shoes, neoprene gloves/mittens/mitts and bee/elephant/balaclava.

Feel free to show up dressed in swimwear and tight-fitting sportswear in plastic or wool under your normal clothes - then you can quickly get into the wetsuit.
