Would you like to try kayaking? On this introductory course you will get an introduction to the world of kayaking. It's about having a good experience on the water, getting smarter about the kayak and learning some technique that makes it so much easier and more fun to row a kayak!
The purpose is to give a feel for the kayak, and an experience of what it means to row a kayak. We have no doubt that it is hard not to get as excited about kayaking as we are!!
We can't give any guarantees, but at DISCOVER KAYAK we don't expect you to smoke in the water unless you absolutely can't stay away:)
**You must be at least 4 participants (or pay for 4 people) to be able to book our 'Group Discover Kayak' . **

2 hours. That turns into just over an hour of effective time on the water.

The kayak hotel has wetsuit, rowing jacket, vest, kayak, spray deck, and paddle you can borrow, but you are also welcome to bring your own equipment.

Exceptions: Course information and practical information will be sent after booking to the email address from which the course is booked. Please pass on the information if you are booking for multiple participants or for another.

What you need to know before booking: Minimum age for participants is 12
**You must be at least 4 participants (or pay for 4 people) to be able to book our 'Group Discover Kayak' . **
**Prerequisites: **
No prior knowledge is necessary, but you should be in normal physical shape and be comfortable with water.
Children can participate from the age of 12. Children between the ages of 12-15 must be accompanied by an adult.
Anyone under the age of 18 must bring a written permission from a parent/guardian, unless they themselves attend.
**Registration for the course is binding. **
If you purchased a cancellation guarantee at the same time as your booking, you have the option to cancel your booking up to 10 days before the booked date.
This means that you will get the payment back, however, minus the amount that the cancellation guarantee costs. If there are 10 days or less left, you have the opportunity to rebook once within 12 months - this also applies in case of illness. Simply notify us no later than 24 hours before the course. If 24 hours or less are left, it is no longer possible to rebook.
This **Cancellation Guarantee can be purchased at “check out” . **
**Special conditions: **
If there are any special things that the instructor needs to be aware of, such as diabetes, special medications or other things that may affect physical or mental alertness, we would like to know in advance. All information is, of course, treated confidentially.
**Course Moving/Course Cancellation: **
We reserve the right to cancel a course if we do not have the necessary consent. If we cancel the course, it is always possible to get the money back or move the course to another date. In case of refund, the course price, as well as any unused cancellation guarantee, will be refunded.
**What should I bring? **
**Equipment - what should you bring to the course yourself: **
- The kayak hotel lends wetsuit (longjohn), anorak, vest and of course all kayak equipment.
**Please bring the following to the course yourself: **
- Suitable kayak shoes, preferably neoprene shoes (wet shoes). If you do not have neoprene shoes, these can be purchased at the storeat special course price. Bare feet is not recommended!
- Possibly powerbar/fruit/chocolate/nuts/raisins - quick energy to take with you on the water.
- Any water bottle (it is important to keep the fluid balance at an even level).
**In addition, we recommend that you bring: **
- Swimwear to wear under the wetsuit, as well as a towel (it is also possible to take a hot bath afterwards).
- Thin long-sleeved sweat-wicking sweater (synthetic or wool) to wear under wetsuit/anorak. If the temperature is cooler, the shirt should be thicker.
- Sunhat/cap and ALWAYS sunscreen during the summer season, as we get double exposure out on the water and the sun's UV rays also penetrate on a cloudy day.
- Eyeglass cord for glasses/sunglasses to be carried on the water. These can also be purchased at the store.
- Please note that everything you take with you on the water can also be lost in the water. The Kayak Hotel does not accept responsibility for damaged/lost effects on land or on water.
**If the water/air temperature is below 12 degrees, we recommend that you also bring: **
- Extra warm clothes, then a layer of ski underwear with pants/jersey under the wetsuit, as well as an extra fleece shirt.
- A warm hat and possibly neoprene gloves/mittens (or that can withstand getting wet and are windproof).
Cancellation Conditions
- Bookings are non-refundable. All sales are binding.
Kajakhotellet blev grundlagt i 2005 af de passionerede kajakentusiaster Anders Nielsen og Peter Bondesen. Det hele begyndte med en fælles kærlighed til kajakroning og ønsket om at skabe et unikt sted, hvor både nybegyndere og erfarne roere kunne skabe et fællesskab med havkajakken som omdrejningspunkt. Fra en cirkusvogn, fællesomklædning og toiletter der frøs til henover vinteren, dyrkede vi sammen kærligheden for kajak og vandsport. I 2006 blev Lucia i kajak i de københavnske kanaler en fast tradition som nu er blevet et tilløbsstykke med 4-500 deltagere, og 40-50.000 tilskuere på land! Jørgen Schubert kom senere til som butikschef, og med hans erfaring for detail og detalje, samt baggrund med kitesurfing, events og vandsport var det et perfekt match. Når man træder ind i vores butik og café i Amager Strandpark, så mærk den stemning og den "surfer vibe" som Jørgen har skabt! Siden vi begyndte rejsen, er der løbet meget vand gennem åen, og vores “lille” kajaksted har kunnet udvikle sig sammen med kunder og ikke mindst vores medlemmer, og er vokset til så meget mere! I dag er Kajakhotellet danmarks vel nok største vandsportscenter med havkajak, surfski, stand up paddleboard (SUP), kitesurfing, wing og foil. Komplet med kurser, klub, opbevaring, butik, café, yoga, sauna, stort udvalg, god service, god kaffe, events og opbevaring af kajakker og SUP på vores 2 lokationer i Amager Strandpark og Kalvebod Bølge.
Uden vores fantastiske medarbejdere kunne alt dette dog slet ikke lade sig gøre! Stor tak til alle de mange mennesker der gennem årene har været med til at skabe MAGIC MOMENTS, været med til at dele et fælleskab og været garant for gode oplevelse på og ved vandet.
